Repeat Prescriptions
Some people on regular medication may be able to get further supplies without seeing the doctor. If the doctor has said you can do this there are a number of ways to place an order:
- Use the online Repeat Prescription Service via the link at the top of this page - you will have to complete an application form for each family member at the practice before you can use this service. You must bring two forms of ID (even if we've seen them before).
- Use the re-order form attached to your prescription. This can be posted to the practice, handed in securely to the Practice directly or by using our designated post box in the foyer area.
We no longer accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed by the practice and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
If you asked the for prescription to be sent to a local chemist you need to allow additional time for them to process the request. Please check with the dispensing chemist.
Medication Reviews
The GPs review the records of patients on regular medication on an annual basis - though this may be more often for some medication. If one of your regular medication seems to have disappeared from your list when ordering using the online services then this is probably because the GPs need to review and re-authorise it. Please call and discuss with the reception team who may arrange a telephone review appointment for you.
For patients with long term conditions requiring monitoring, we arrange an annual face-to-face appointment, usually around your birthday month. You should receive a letter about this as a prompt to book an appointment, which is often with the nursing team in the first instance.
Please also check the repeat prescription slip that you get back from the pharmacist with your medication, as we may have added a message to this about the need for a review.
